Design Process:
Define a problem- To have a paper bridge using two 1X1 inch cubes and one sheet of cardstock at the longest possible length.
Constraints-
*two wooden blocks
*one sheet of 8X11 cardstock
*cant touch table
*no outside materials
*try to get the bridge as long as possible
Brainstorm-
*roll sheets together
*tear sheets and link together
*a tent like bridge
Idea= Roll sheets together in thin strips and put them end to end.
Construct and Test-
We did three strips folded into rolls, then we stuck each one inside of each other.
*We saw that the strips were a little heavy, so we had to first flatten them, then stick them further inside each other. This took weight off the middle and distributed it more evenly.
Presentation- The paper bridge measured 92 cm from tip to tip.
